A pair of Saskatoon Blades players have been named to Team WHL for the upcoming Subway Super Series against Team Russia.
Blades forward Josh Nicholls and defenceman Duncan Siemens have been named to the team for both games against a team of Russian All-Stars. The games take place November 16th in Regina and November 17th in Moose Jaw.
“It’s a huge honour any time you get to represent your country and your league,” said Saskatoon Blades captain Duncan Siemens.
“It’s something that’s very humbling and I’m really looking forward to it”, added Siemens.
Josh Nicholls had similar comments.
“I’m pretty excited. It’s a big honour any time you get to represent the WHL and it’s the first step to possibly getting a chance to make Team Canada for the World Juniors,” said Nicholls.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity and I can’t wait for the games,” he added.
