The Saskatoon Blades dropped their exhibition opener last night, falling on the road to the Prince Albert Raiders 6-2.
It was special teams that did the Blades in, with Prince Albert scoring two shorthanded goals as well as netting one on the powerplay.
Saskatoon got their two goals from Ryan Graham and Ryan Olsen. Olsen’s goal came on a penalty shot in the second period. He also assisted on the Graham goal, finishing the night with a pair of points.
The Raiders were also driven by newcomer Jonas Knutsen. The import centre from Norway had 2 goals and an assist in his first game action for Prince Albert.
Both Blades goaltenders allowed 3 goals in the game. Adam Todd made 18 saves while Patrick Johnson stopped 13.
Saskatoon returns to action on Saturday night when the Raiders visit Credit Union Centre. A reminder to all fans that the game will be free of charge and that a garage sale will be held on the main concourse prior to the game. Great merchandise will be available for great prices.
