The Saskatoon Blades (29-18-0-1) take their two game winning streak on the road as they battle the Moose Jaw Warriors (29-14-5-1) tonight .

The Blades come into the game currently tied for 5th overall in the Eastern Conference along with the Calgary Hitmen.  The Blades trail the Warriors by 5 points in the standings with one less game played.

The Saskatoon Blades are coming off of a wild, 9-6 win over the Victoria Royals last Saturday night. The Blades were led by Dalton Thrower (3 goals), Michael Burns (2 goals, 2 assists) and Duncan Siemens (4 assists).

Burns and Lukas Sutter were also an impressive +6 in the game as the Blades went 1 for 5 on the PP and were perfect on the penalty kill, holding the fort on three shorthanded situations.

16 year old goaltender Alex Moodie won his 9th game in 13 appearances this season as he stopped 22 shots.

Tonight marks the 4th meeting of the season between the Blades and the Warriors.  Saskatoon has won one and lost two so far this year against Moose Jaw.

Moodie Back To Midget

The Saskatoon Blades have returned goaltender Alex Moodie to the Winnipeg Wild of the Manitoba Midget AAA League.

The 16 year old was fantastic as a stop-gap for Andrey Makarov, who was away at the World Juniors, then suffered a concussion in his return to the Blades in early January.

Moodie won 9 of his 12 starts, including posting his first career WHL shutout in Brandon on January 11th.

8 Game Streak

20 year old forward Michael Burns is on a tear for the Saskatoon Blades. He had a 4 point night last game to stretch his current point streak to 8 games.  In those 8 games, Burns has 5 goals and 10 assists for 15 points.

Burns also has points in 12 of his last 13 games.

Schmidt's Game Winners

The Saskatoon Blades have got an offensive boost from defenceman Kyle Schmidt over the last two games.

After two points in his first 35 games, Schmidt has put up 3 points in his last two games.  Among those 3 recent points have been 2 goals, both of which were game winners for the Blades.

The native of Waldheim, Saskatchewan also recently played in his 100th career WHL game.

Attack From The Back End

Defenceman Dalton Thrower has been providing some much needed offence for the Saskatoon Blades since the Christmas break.

Thrower currently ranks tied for 6th in the WHL in defensive scoring with 12 goals and 38 points in 48 games.

In the 13 games since the Christmas break, Thrower has posted 8 goals and 19 points.  Thrower's hat-trick last game against Victoria also marked the 5th time this season that he has registered atleast 3 points in a game.
