The Saskatoon Blades, with their 162^nd overall selection, have chosen defenseman Shay Laurent from Fort McMurray, AB.

Shay Laurent, a 6’1”, 180 pound blue liner, was born on April 1st, 1993.

“Shay Laurent is a big, physical defenseman that isn’t afraid to play the game with an edge,” commented Blades Assistant General Manager Jarrod Brodsky. “Shay both sees the ice and moves the puck well.”
